Rekindled

Washing old clothes
Fitting like before
A long while back, someone asked for a six word poem on Tumblr describing a friend they had not been in touch with, but then had reconnected with and everything felt so right, as though their friendship had never taken a hiatus.

The above poem was the result.

For some reason, it stuck with me. First, I adored the simplicity of the six-word poem. Secondly, of the image it creates. But lastly, perhaps, because I also felt the same connection, or hope for some of my friendships, and feel the same way whenever there is a long break between catch-ups with old time friends.

Last Saturday, I came across this exact situation.

With a friend I thought I had disconnected with. Whom I thought we would probably never go back to where we were, but alas, call the situation a blessing in disguise. Here we are, ten years later.

100%

Words cannot describe how much I agree with this.

"What represents your greatest trust in a person?"
"Not bringing your brain out when you're out and about with them."

This is so complete and utterly true of myself when I'm with my family and best friends.

Postcards from Phillip Island

"How many times in your life will you walk in the pelting rain, in face of a rising tide with the ocean lapping at your feet in Phillip Island?"

So I reasoned, and we continued on.

Encapsulating Hakuna Matata.

That little ducky makes me so happy every time I see it.

Double rainbow and sunshowers.
Position yourself 40 degrees with your back towards the sun.

Food coma after food coma.
Under- and overestimations, next time we'll get it right.

Why, thank you Space Team.
Hahaha, fun times.

Obligatory cloud photo in memory of the old days.

What more do you require? Hee.

We thought we'd be able to spend a whole morning here.
Until we drove by after Peninsula Hotsprings and reformulated our plans.

"Amy, do you want to try and see how durable that Totoro will be after you drop it?"

Brilliant end to the trip.

Can't wait till the next one.

Teddy Bear Hospital

Two of the very few photos I had the chance to take at the Good Friday Appeal this year.

I was a Teddy Doctor this time round, but was pulled into Triage towards the end.
Hectic day, yet it brought with it so much fun and contentment.

AusWHO 2014

I really, really enjoyed AusWHO this year.

They say people are happier when their friends live nearby.
The past few weeks have proven these words to such that they cannot be truer.

Lavender Farm & Dandenong Ranges

Tis the summer of lavenders.

L and I went on a day trip.

I actually really like driving.
Listening to CNBLUE (<3), talking about random things, planning and catching up with each other is really lovely.

The lavender farm was nothing like what we expected - in our minds, the scene from The Hobbit replayed but reality fell short. Very short. At least I got the dried lavender I've been wanting and made lavender pouches!

So we headed to Cloudehill. Maybe, I thought, just maybe we may bump into my mum who was working. And so we did.
